White Oak Flooring with American Walnut Cabinets

Found these photos on Houzz.com. Of course my attention is drawn to the hardwoods used in the kitchen. This is a home in Mill Valley, California that was once a library and was converted into a home by Bay Area Designer Matt Bear who work with The Last Inch, a custom cabinetry and woodworking company. The floor is solid white oak with a matte commercial finish. The cabinets are made of solid hand-hewn American black walnut. I like finding photos that mix wood cabinets with wood floors. So many times our customers think that their hardwood floors have to match their hardwood cabinets or they think that they can't mix hardwood cabinets with hardwood floors. Whenever I see design photos like the ones below I save them so that our hardwood floor customers can see how beautiful it is to mix woods.  At Simas we carry the White Oak hardwood floor in both solid hardwood and engineered hardwood.  In the Sacramento and surrounding areas, many houses are built on concrete foundations. An engineered hardwood floor can be install on a concrete subfloor using hardwood glue. If you have questions about hardwood installation or have design questions about what would look best with your existing kitchen cabinets, give Simas a call or email us for more information. We have interior designers and installation experts who can answer your questions and help you with your flooring selections. We want you to be happy with your selections and the style of your room and understand that the floor is just the beginning. There are many other elements that should be considered when selecting a floor. Simas has qualified, experienced professionals who can help you create the room and house you want.
