Millstone Handscraped Hardwood in Woodland

We just finished installing hardwood floors throughout the common areas and in the master bedroom in this new Woodland home. It shows a great example of mixing hardwood tones. As you see from the photographs, mixing wood tones in flooring and cabinets works when the wood tones are contrasting and complementing instead of attempting to match the hardwood flooring to the cabinet stain. In these photos you'll see a few different lighting and angle directions. The wood changes colors depending on where the light is coming from. I selected the photos that best represent the look and color of the floor. We also installed Hunter Douglas Palm Beach Shutters throughout the home. Our customer is extremely happy with the results! This is a transition strip from the hardwood to the tile. It's called a variable threshold. When we install the hardwood and the tile at the same time every effort is made to install the 2 products on the same level to avoid a transition strip. In this home, the tile had been installed before the hardwood,which resulted in the installation of a variable threshold.

Armstrong Commercial Flooring, Fitness Floors and More at Rio Del Oro Racquet Club

We recently completed a flooring project at Rio del Oro Racquet club on Scripps Drive in Sacramento. Rio del Oro is one of many Spare Time Clubs in the Sacramento area. Simas is installing the flooring in phases. Below you will see photos of the children's room, the Spinning Room and the Yoga Studio. Mark, (one of my partners/cousin) and I went together to photograph the finished work and we were both so impressed with the friendly and family atmosphere at Rio del Oro. It's obvious that Spare Time Clubs put their members first.

Luxury Vinyl Plank and 3-D Carpet

The Federico Beauty Institute has been a fantastic job to work on! The designers selected updated products and colors and the final results are a fun and exciting place for the students of Federico Beauty Institute. Luxury Vinyl Plank, which we used on this project, is a great flooring solution for both commercial and residential applications. On this project we installed LVP in some of the training classrooms, the cafe and the seating area outside the cafe. The carpet in the Conference Room is something to see! Our installers did a great job installing this 3-D looking pattern.

Saying Goodbye and Good luck to Sarah

Today we held a Goodbye and Good Luck luncheon for Sarah. She is relocating to the central coast and planning a wedding. We wish her well on her new adventures. Sarah worked at Simas Floor and Design Company for 8 years. She began working out of the Sacramento office, moved to the Visalia office as the office manager and then transferred back to the Sacramento location.

Tuftex and Masland-Grey Carpet

Today I'm featuring two retail jobs that we completed this week. Both customers selected carpet in the grey tones. I find it interesting how colors come and go and how we are all affected by what we see in magazines and on television when it comes to selecting colors for our home. The color trend for interiors is strongly in the taupes and greys. We started to see the preference to taupes and greys start over the past 2 years, little by little. Now it's in full swing!

Armstrong Striations and Bigelow Carpet Tile

We worked with designer Erika Bubeck on this project for Ideal Restoration in South San Francisco. The Armstrong Striations is a new and exciting commercial VCT product. The Striations product requires that polish is applied to the floor after installation to finish off the look and performance of the product. Once the polish is applied the maintenance is easy. We also used Bigelow/Mohawk Carpet tiles and broadloom on this project. The tiles are installed in the downstairs cubicle area and the broadloom is installed in the conference room and CFO office upstairs. The upstairs is not yet complete so stay tuned for more photos of this project.
