It's not too hard to have a great time when we get our team together for food and games! Mark, Craig and I are very proud of the team of people working at Simas Floor and Design Company. They are all quality people. Each person is a big contributor to our daily operations and success. This is the time of year to express appreciation so that is exactly what I'm doing! The Warmth of Hardwood for Holiday Decorating

There's nothing like hardwood flooring to add warmth to a home. For holiday decorating hardwood flooring creates a rich background for the colors of Christmas and Holiday decorating. I've featured 2 homes on this post that are lovely examples of how a hardwood floor adds a comfortable and inviting background to holiday decorating. The first one featured is the home of my Realtor Wendy Rockwood. She recently remodeled her kitchen and common living space and you can see the beautiful results below. The second home is owned by Al and Barbara Simas. Barbara is a gifted Floral and Arrangement Artist as you will see in the photos below.

Beautiful Flooring in Model Homes by De Young Properties in Fresno

Recently we completed flooring in De Young Properties Country Court Models. Below are some photos from this project as well as two photos from the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Simas had the honor of donating flooring and window covering products and installation over the past 3 years to the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway that De Young Properties Sponsors. This year alone De Young Properties raised over $1,000,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital! These gorgeous photos were donated by Mullins Photography.

Newest Addition to the Simas Team--Thomas Irwin

Thomas Irwin joined Simas Floor and Design Company in September 2013 as a Retail Sales Representative. He has worked as a flooring estimator for 10 years and is also a licensed electrician. When I asked Thomas what his favorite product in the showroom is he pointed out the Royalty Carpet line. Royalty Carpet Mills is a California company that is known for quality and design.



 Thomas is a great addition to our sales team and brings energy, knowledge and enthusiasm with him. 







In his free time Thomas enjoys riding his Harley Davidson, wake boarding, camping and riding dirt bikes with his friends.

  

Life has changed a lot for Thomas in the last 6 month since his beautiful twin boy and girl were born.

Customer Service Account Representative Andrea Delany

We'd like you to meet Andrea Delany from our Customer Service Department. Andrea works as a Project Manager for Property Management and Material Sales. She stays busy all day scheduling installations and juggling the schedule.

Likes best about her job: Interaction with customers and developing positive relationships over the phone or through email. She is looking forward to cross-training in Purchasing.

Education: Interior Design Certificate from Design School at California College of Technology.

Personal: Married for 5 years and has a son 2 1/2 years old.

Lives: In Lodi, California

Favorite thing to do on weekend: Staying active with outdoor activities with her husband and son and hanging out with her family.

Favorite T.V. Program: Bachelor/Bachelorette. She likes to watch it with her girlfriends and participates in a fantasy Bachelor/Bachelorette pool (She hasn't won it yet!)

Hobby: Party Design and Event Planning including floral design, themes and decorations.

Favorite Sport: Baseball

Favorite Sports Team: San Francisco Giants

 Andrea started working at Simas Floor and Design Company in April of this year. She is an excellent addition to our customer service department.

Andrea hard at work at her desk. She has 10 years of experience in the interior design field and in customer service. Her knowledge of products and the flooring industry is an asset to Simas Floor and Design Company.

Favorite Product in Showroom: Cerdomus Porcelain Tile made to look like hardwood planks. She has designed homes using this product and is always very happy with the results.



How to Select a Custom Area Rug

The area rugs below are all custom area rugs that Simas installed in new homes. We are seeing a lot more hard surfaces in homes such as hardwood and tile flooring. Most of the time a hard surface floor will call for an area rug in order to anchor furniture, increase comfort, and add color to the area. The beauty of a custom area rug is that you can select any carpet style and color from our showroom and we can make it into an area rug for you.

 

How to Select a Custom Area Rug:

1. Select the size you would like.

2. Select a carpet style and color.

3. Select a backing.

4. Select an edge finish.
